Where Midtown Comes Alive After Dark

Live music, craft cocktails, and electric nights at 46th Street, steps from Times Square.

About Us

The ornate entrance of Sony Hall showcasing its architectural details.

On any given night at Sony Hall, the crowd might be watching a Grammy-winning artist, a buzzed-about indie act, or a sold-out awards ceremony like the Radio Mercury Awards. The room earns its reputation not by accident but by design: a 700-capacity ballroom-style space with sight lines that make the back row feel as close as the front, and acoustics that remind you why live music exists in the first place.

Situated on West 46th Street in Midtown, Sony Hall draws a crowd that ranges from theater-goers to industry insiders to fans who drove in from three states away. The venue pairs its performance calendar with a full kitchen and a bar program serious enough to hold your attention between sets. Guests who caught Orfeh's recent show walked away raving about the food as much as the music.

Sony Hall is open seven days a week, from late morning through the early hours, giving it a versatility few New York venues can match. Whether the calendar shows a late-night DJ set or a celebrity side-project like Jackrabbit featuring Dermot Mulroney, the room delivers the same thing every time: a night you'll be describing to someone on Monday morning.

What We Offer

Sony Hall operates as a fully realized entertainment destination, not just a stage with seats around it. The live music programming spans rock, pop, jazz, R&B, and everything in between, with a booking philosophy that prizes genuine talent over predictable headliners. Private event and corporate buyout packages make the space available for product launches, award shows, and branded experiences at a scale that most Midtown venues cannot accommodate.

The full-service kitchen runs alongside the performance schedule, offering a menu built to complement a long evening rather than rush you out. The bar keeps pace with craft cocktails, a curated wine list, and everything you need to settle in for a three-hour show. VIP table reservations are available for guests who want reserved seating with bottle service, and the general admission floor gives the room an energy that seated-only venues simply cannot replicate.

With doors open from 11:00 AM to 2:00 AM Sunday through Thursday and until 4:00 AM on Friday and Saturday, Sony Hall covers the full arc of the day, from afternoon events to after-midnight sets that feel like New York's best-kept secret.

"Last night I saw Jackrabbit featuring Dermot Mulroney at Sony Hall in NYC. I decided to go when I read the lead singer was Dermot Mulroney from The Wedding Date and My Best Friend’s Wedding, two of my favorite movies, so I was excited to see him in person. Dermot tours with his brother Kieran, and they were exceptional. The entire band was incredibly talented. It seems like Dermot has found a real passion in music, and it was fun to see that side of him. One of the sweetest parts of the evening was hearing how excited they were to be performing in the Broadway district. As a New Yorker, I totally loved that. You could tell they genuinely appreciated being there, and that excitement carried through the entire show. I went by myself, and it was easy to get lost in the music. It was also very cool to see them in such a beautiful, intimate theater. Sony Hall was the perfect setting for the show. If Jackrabbit comes through your town, definitely grab a ticket. If you enjoy country, folk, or Americana music, I highly recommend seeing them live."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We recently attended the 2026 Radio Mercury Awards at Sony Hall, and it was an outstanding venue. The location is convenient, the space is beautiful, and the overall experience was first class from start to finish. What stood out most was the staff. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and professional, helping the event run smoothly. The stage, lighting, and production capabilities were impressive and created a great atmosphere for an awards show. If you’re attending an event here or considering it as a venue, you’re in good hands. Sony Hall strikes a great balance between elegance, technology, and hospitality. Highly recommended. 👏🎭🎤✨"

"This venue was beautiful, and most of all the ensemble of musicians had our Puerto Rican pride show through! It was awesome! The only thing I could have done without was the food! I won’t buy a dinner package at Sony hall again! Hence the 4 star rating 😘"

"My son and I attended Candlelight: Christmas Carols on Strings, and it was truly one of the most beautiful experiences we’ve had in a very long time. From the moment we arrived, everything felt special. The music was absolutely stunning so moving and perfectly suited to the candlelit atmosphere. The food was delicious, and the service was wonderful, which made the entire evening feel seamless and relaxing. It was such a meaningful experience to share with my son, and we left feeling calm, happy, and inspired. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a memorable and magical evening."
